Mactrans – a 3PL logistics company

At Mactrans Logistics, we offer third-party logistics (3PL) services across North America. We do not have a fleet of equipment to manage, which means we are not required to fill our own trucks. Instead, we find the most appropriate carrier, mode, and shipping service to meet your needs directly.

You will work with one of our dedicated transportation experts, whose experience in transportation and distribution provides a fresh perspective when analyzing your daily shipping processes. Shippers are increasingly opting for complete logistics services to optimize their transportation needs. We have literally reinvented freight transportation by meeting the specific needs of each customer with a consideration of their overall logistics situation and assigning tailor-made solutions.

Our History 

Mactrans Logistics started operating in January of 2009. It was founded by its current President and Owner, Joel MacKay. From its humble beginnings of 3 employees working in a small office Mactrans now has a team of over 30 employees and sales agents working from its offices in Toronto, Montreal, Moncton, and Calgary.

Joel attributes Mactrans’ growth over the last decade to the fact that « we have assembled a great team of people who care about our company, customers, and carriers. On the customer side we are grateful for the business we receive and work hard to develop customized transportation solutions. On the carrier side we pay quickly and are respectful of our carrier base. They are the backbone of our business and everyone who works for Mactrans understands that. » Joel adds « I’m so proud of what we have accomplished over the last fourteen years and can’t wait to see what the next decade brings for Mactrans. »

Locations, Permits and Certifications

Mactrans Logistics Inc. is incorporated under the provincial laws of Ontario (Canada) and is also a registered corporation in Quebec. Our head office is located in Vaughan (Toronto), Ontario and we have operations and sales offices in Toronto, Ontario and Montreal, Quebec. We serve all of North America and are licensed by the US Department of Transportation (US DOT # 2243762). Our motor carrier number is MC # 668741 and our SCAC (Standard Alpha Carrier Code) is MLIH under the NMFTA (National Motor Freight Tariff Association). Mactrans also holds a surety bond with the GUARANTEE COMPANY OF NORTH AMERICA USA as well as insurance issued by Dalton Timmis Insurance Group. Since August 15, 2019, Mactrans has been a SmartWay certified transportation provider.
