Mactrans is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Babineau (bio below) as their National Account Executive in Moncton, NB. Mactrans is extra-provincially registered as a corporation in New Brunswick, and they are licensed to manage cross-border freight (MC # 668741) and shipments moving within and between all provinces and territories in Canada.
Daniel Babineau started with Mactrans on June 1, 2021. “This is a very exciting time for our company” says Mactrans President and Owner Joel MacKay. “I’ve known Daniel for ten years and he is the perfect person to oversee our growth in Atlantic Canada. I couldn’t be happier he decided to join us” adds MacKay.
Daniel Babineau – Bio
Daniel Babineau graduated from CCNB-Dieppe in June 1992 from the Business Administration – Transportation course. He continued his education, while working, to earn his CITT designation in 1995.
Daniel started working at Armour Transportation Systems in July 1992 in the long-haul department. He started in administration, helping with driver pays, assisting in dispatch and pricing as well as anything else required for the day-to-day operation of that department. As the long-haul division got busier, Daniel concentrated on long haul pricing, working closely with customers and the Vice President of that division, putting deals together.
In 2014, Daniel joined the sales team looking after customers in Atlantic Canada, Ontario, Quebec and USA. He helped customers with truck load, LTL, courier, warehousing, container dray and intermodal services. He really loves helping customers find solutions to their transportation needs.
In 1997, Daniel joined the board of the Transportation Club of Moncton as a director. In 2011, he became the Vice President of the club, responsible for organizing their annual awards banquet as well as organizing monthly luncheons. In 2013, he became President, a role he held until the end of his 2-year term in 2015.
In 2018, Daniel became Vice President of the board of directors of Baton New Brunswick, an organization that oversees the baton twirling clubs in New Brunswick, a sport his daughter has enjoyed for the past 10 years.
Daniel loves spending time with his family on camping adventures, reading, travelling and cooking. He lives in Grande-Digue, NB with his wife Micheline, and two children, Patrice and Sophie.
